The Story Behind Rainbow Snake

Rainbow Snake was inspired by the ancient symbolism of serpents across different cultures.

In Indigenous Australian Dreaming traditions, the Rainbow Serpent is connected to water, creation, fertility and the shaping of the land. In Mesoamerican traditions, serpents also appear as powerful symbols of nature, renewal and the connection between earth and sky.

I was drawn to the idea of the snake as something that is constantly moving, changing and beginning again. In my own interpretation, its flowing shape and joyful colors became a little reminder of transformation, resilience and finding color along the way.

Rainbow Snake is my playful take on these timeless ideas, reimagined through the colorful world of Raleu.
